Meet the Chef
Chef Lawrance Finley specializes in creating great food using fresh ingredients presented in a straightforward style. He rejuvenated the menu at Mulligans, which was already known as a fun and friendly local bar, adding robust dishes with lots of fresh ingredients, daily specials and seafood items, much like the trend in European pubs. According to Finley, “Pubs have historically been about the beer and other beverages, with little or no emphasis on food. Mulligans however embraces the concept of ‘Gastropub’ – culinary excellence in a traditional pub environment.” He encourages locals to stop by and meet Ponte Vedra Beach’s newest chef-artist.
Early in his career, Finley distinguished himself as the youngest chef at MGM’s Mirage Hotel, running their well-known California Pizza Kitchen. After moving to northeast Florida, he joined the renowned kitchen at TPC Sawgrass. Finley is an Army veteran and a graduate of Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College. He, his wife of 14 years and their 3 children (who are his other passion) live in Jacksonville.
